BUT, dear friends, tomorrow is the very last ship day of the season. Tomorrow the NCL Star will sail in, invade our town, and then sail away. And I won't have to talk to another tourist until May 6, 2011. Well, except for on the phone throughout the winter, but let's not think of that right now.
Let's just envision what it will feel like tomorrow evening when the twinkling lights of the last cruise ship of the season begin to fade away down northern tip of the Inside Passage, leaving behind it a very difficult and exhausting summer. And then I'll begin to pick up the pieces of myself that have been scattered about and slowly pull myself back together.
Oh, yes. It's my favorite time of year. This is when I feel most alive and ready to tackle new things.
I have high hopes for this winter and what the world of knitting has in store for me. Two new designs will be out soon and I have many more in the pipeline. I am beyond excited. It's the first time I've felt alive in months.
Oh, and why, you ask, am I feeling so proud of myself? I made my very own blog button. With the assistance of this lovely website, of course. I'm not that smart to pull off something like that on my own. :) Feel free to grab one for your own blog...spread the Alaskan Purl love around!
